I was invited by the Composer Wellbeing Collective to participate in a panel discussion about the many roles of a composer, in particular the pressure and balance of the job. The panel featured Professor Roger Kneebone (Doctor, Academic, Director of the Royal College of Music/Imperial College Centre for Performance Science),  Emily Richardson  (Composer Agent, Music Supervisor & Composer Wellbeing Collective), myself and Segun Akinola (Composer and Musician).

It was a fascinating discussion and Segun and I both touched on the pressures of starting work as a composer on a major television series. I also talked about how I held back making an important telephone call early in my career due to the fear of being rejected. It was a very open and frank discussion.

Thank you to everyone at the Composer Wellbeing Collective for setting up this series of panels with many composers and people working in this field.
