An Evening to Remember…

Last week in the Ulster Hall in my home town of Belfast I was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award by the Northern Ireland Music Prize and PRS for Music. It was an evening I will never forget!

When I was a teenager, kids from Belfast did not become film and television composers. That was not even on my radar but I thought I could make a small space for myself somewhere in the music industry making music.

It has been a tough journey, a long journey but also an incredible journey.

I have been lucky to work with wonderful directors, editors, producers, musicians, sound engineers and fantastic people in the music and television industry. They have all played a part in bringing my music to life.

I would not be here without them, thank you!

A huge thank you to the Chief Executive of PRS Andrea Czapary Martin, President of the PRS Members’ Council Michelle Escoffery and the executive team from PRS who came over to Belfast for the 2022 Northern Ireland Music Prize to present me with this award.

For the amazing work they do to promote Northern Ireland artists and music and this beautiful award, a big shout out to the team at the Northern Ireland Music Prize led by Charlotte Dryden and the crew from Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Centre.

It was a wonderful night of music with brilliant performances from the next generation of Northern Ireland artists and an experience I’ll never forget.
