For the last episode of the last ever season of DCI Banks, fans of the show will know about the Alan Banks and Annie Cabbot ongoing love interest and relationship storyline.
For the last episode of season 5 I wanted the score to be generally very still and not that emotional – like a kind of ‘suspended reality’ or ‘time stands still’.
But for this last music cue I finally had an opportunity to bring in some emotion – and after two episodes of very emotionally restrained music I hope that this theme does the closing scene justice.
Season 5 of DCI Banks ends with this theme ‘Annie’ over the final scene, which feels like the right piece of music to end the journey that I have had with Alan Banks, Annie, Helen and the team.
